Tithing is a long-held tradition, referring to the practice of giving away, as an act of generosity, 1/10th of your income to a worthy cause. Most of us feel we don’t have money to spare. But everyone can find an hour – whether it’s a month or a week. And so OneTribe uses a much less literal, but no less powerful, definition of Tithing, focusing on time and the power of 1. 1 person, 1 hour, multiplied by many … You do the math. The key is to focus on what you can do, not what you can’t.
OneTribe’s culture is based on ‘authentic giving’: each person gives only what they can, when they can – and no more. No guilt plus no pressure equals a lot of fun and satisfaction.
So the question is, what can you give? Maybe it’s a one-off contribution of one afternoon next month only. Or an hour some weeks and not others. Whatever it is, your contribution, added to others’, equals a lot. We mean it when we say ‘if you can give an hour, we can make it count’. List your time and talents in the Tribal Talents Forum and look through the Current Projects Forum to find something to which you’d like to contribute.
