Featured Project: Launching OneTribe

OneTribe is in ‘pre-launch’ phase, which consists of spreading the word, getting people contributing to the various forums (fora?!), supporting the first Team Leads to successfully launch and execute their respective Projects (to generate some success stories) and generally helping to establish an infrastructure that successfully and invisibly supports everyone in creating whatever they want to create.

Caitlin Miller, the founding member of OneTribe, would like to hear from you if you’re inspired to help this birthing process in any way. All contributions welcome! Please contact her at caitlin@onetribe.us.

What Is OneTribe?

OneTribe is you. And you. And you. In other words, it’s us. If the world is one big global village, OneTribe is the village center where everyone can come together to create and make a difference.

The virtual world has left people feeling increasingly isolated, but it doesn’t have to be that way. You can use OneTribe to create real and virtual events and services that have a local, national or international impact. Find your footing by starting small, and go from there, working with like-minded people who might live 5 blocks or 5,000 miles away from you.

What OneTribe is not

OneTribe was created as a kind of ‘Craigslist for energy’. Although it’s a not-for-profit organization, it’s not a corporate entity and is not registered as a 501c.

It has no overheads, no paid staff. Just like the Projects it helps to birth, OneTribe operates as one big ongoing Project in its own right – 100% fuelled by volunteer effort. Since OnceTribe is a catalyst, and there is no official ‘entity’, no money passes through it: each Project is run locally by the respective Team Lead, who is responsible for ensuring that the outputs generated reach the nominated beneficiary.
